Blueberry Preserve

Whole berries packed into jars, covered with a light syrup, boiled fifteen minutes.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 6 ½ cups water
  • blueberries (enough to fill the jars)
Method
  1. Dissolve the sugar into the water. Boil till dissolved.
  2. Fill jars with berries, leaving 1/2 inch head space.
  3. Pour the syrup over the berries, covering them.
  4. Wipe the rims and lids dry.
  5. Put in the pot and boil for 15 minutes.

Notes

Written in her book as: Dissolve 1/2 cup Sugar into 6 1/2 cups Water. Boil till dissolved. Fill jars with berries leaving 1/2 inch head space. Pour syrup over berries covering them. Wipe rims and lids dry. Put in pot boil for 15 min.

In the bottom corner of the page she wrote 1/2 W and 1/2 S.
