Chili

Beef, peppers and garlic browned in the Dutch oven, kidney beans and tomato in, half an hour.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 1 med green pepper (chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 can tomatoes (16 oz, cut up)
  • 1 can red kidney beans (16 oz)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp dried basil (crushed)
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
Method
  1. In a Dutch oven cook the beef, onion, green pepper and garlic till the meat is browned. Drain off the fat.
  2. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, undrained beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, basil, Worcestershire sauce and 1/2 tsp salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover.
  4. Simmer about 30 minutes.

Notes

Makes 4 to 6 servings.
