Coffee Pudding

A plain cake batter with a cocoa and hot coffee sauce poured over before it goes in. It sinks and makes its own sauce.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • cup milk
Sauce
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups hot coffee
Method
  1. Heat the oven to 325 and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the egg and the vanilla.
  3. Add the flour and baking powder alternately with the milk. Spread in the dish.
  4. Mix the cocoa and brown sugar and scatter it over the batter, then pour the hot coffee over the whole thing.
  5. Bake at 325 for 45 minutes.
