Raisin Tea Buns

A hot oven bun with pineapple flavouring and the egg beaten up in a glass of water.

Ingredients
  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg (beaten up in a glass of water)
  • 1 tsp pineapple flavouring
  • raisins
Method
  1. Heat the oven to 400.
  2. Mix the flour, sugar and baking powder. Cut in the butter.
  3. Beat the egg up in a glass of water and add it with the pineapple flavouring and the raisins.
  4. Turn out, pat and cut.
  5. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes.

Notes

The egg beaten in a glass of water is how she wrote it. It is her way of stretching one egg into the liquid for the whole batch.

No raisin quantity is written down. About a cup suits this amount of flour.
